Promoted 40 cars - $25 grand to win - paid $15 Grand but had 40 cars - $1500 to start and $3000 for 3rd ? Really ? Seems odd that a race that big with those names only drew around 3000 fans. Betting July 9th will be light on cars. Hmmmmmm - Driver finished 4th in the last chance and 3rd, 5th and 6th from that race went to the big race, 3rd went home. Detroit ballgame ? 16.9 qualifying made it in and 16.4 went home. $40 pit passes and $30 for practice ? Noticing that there are very few of the old supporters of the track left around. Just generally treating people that put on the show badly. Banning people and teams and acting like a crazy person. Seems the future is a little iffy. Sat night 70 cars in 6 classes and 11 in the LM and ran 100 laps. Just some comments I heard out and about today while visiting 2 or 3 shops. Wonder where this was ? One driver was told he would make it and he went home. Hmmmm CRA only had 3 regulars there - makes sense to me now !! CRA saw another side of racing promotion that is foreign to them. Whole thing makes you go Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm !!

And the owner just can't understand why the cars and people dont come out to berlin. Start with running a track like the man who did it 50 years did it. Dont start 26 cars when you can start 38 if you wanted to. did you save a few $$ . Starting a car that only made 1/2 lap WHEN YOU KNEW IT WOULD NOT RUN PROVED WHAT TO WHO ,and send home a 3 time champ was great thinking on your part. Look around mike , the people you piss off are the people who spend $$ with you. I drove 2 hrs to get there and you have a field of cars with out the drivers i and lots others wanted to see race. The man who set behind me said it best HE DIDNT HAVE TO PAY MORE CARS TO START SO HE SET THE FIELD . I go to most the cra races and if they run them like you run your track there car and people count would be like yours.

First of all, nobody qualified a 16.9. The car your referring to was a CRA provisional (nothing to do with Mike). Second, the 3rd place car (or 3 time champ) hadn't turned a single lap at Berlin this year, why reward him and not the drivers who have raced regularly at Berlin this year. Really? You really want to see 38 cars start that race, I sure don't! Everybody likes to say "do it like Chet did" I seem to remember everyone complaining about him too. Berlin has had really good crowds the last three races I have been to (The Rowdy, July 4th weekend, and the ARCA show) so he is doing something right. Crowds are down across the board, look at Kalamazoo - Great promoter, great track, great racing everytime I go and yet their crowds aren't what they were twenty years ago. Sorry to go on and on (and sorry to disagree with you on this one Geo) but just my humble opinion!!!
