OK What the hell happened ? I go to the old Deltaplex and it is fight night. Drivers fighting, hollerin and wrestling around, no wait that was the teams, no wait it was the spotters. Oh hell it was all of them. Not enough cars and to much racing and the stupid impound rule and they have their own start and park program. What a great show for the young drivers to see from the quarter midgets. Now they don't know who to idolize - Rowdy Busch, an Arena driver or Floyd Mayweather. It was a poor display at best and the officials should be ashamed of the way they handled it. With a short car count there won't be the suspensions there should be. Oh well, they will be a support to the 1/4 midgets next year anyway. Just my $9.50 worth. If I go back it will surprise even me. My kids even thought it was stupid. The people from the stands were trying to jump down on the track to attack someone and a Photographer was trying to either fight with a midget driver or scare him to death. He didn't try to hit his foot and the driver should not have to watch out for his dumb ass anyway. It was just a night that all should examine and make sure there is no repeat.

I was the nut that tried to cross over the wall to have a conversation with a driver. I was out of place. Arena racing had a bad nite all around and it was not helped by me. I am ashamed of myself and my wife is still mad at me. The officals made some hard decisions on Monday to deal with the dumb things people did race night. Part of my penalty is not being allowed in the pits at the next race, very fair call on their part. As out of place as I was I will not be at the next race as per my own way of learning a lesson and as per my wife who put her foot down on me. This time she's right no one including me should act or do what was done Sat.

As the daughter of the above "nut," I can say that we are all regretful that Saturday played out the way it did. A lot of tempers were flaring and things most certainly got out of hand. However, the one thing we ALL can agree on is we love racing and all want arena racing to be a great success. So, the race family is like any family... there are some horrific bumps and bruises along the way, but at the end of the day the goal is the same - to race, to be sportsmen, to do our best, and to set an example for those watching.
With that said - and in NO way excusing T.Niewiek's actions... he goes a bit over the top when it comes to his kids. He has this animal like instinct to protect us and although his methods are not always the best, his heart is in the right place. Not an excuse, just an explanation of sorts... even though it's probably not a good one.
SO, in closing... Lets take some time off, cool down, and meet up on the 22nd to do what we all love - RACE and show the fans a good time.
xoxo Heidi Niewiek

If The #34 driver didn't drive like a moron every week they would'nt have a problem. I have been to a couple of different races and that guy is a weapon. And he is the defending champion. He should stay at home.

You know its a shame that the spectator was booted indefinately for what talking thats real smart on the owners part huh NOT if this guy comes up there as a guest to watch a show then gets told to leave thats just stupidity on the Arenas end of it as fas as the other penalties go that a bit harsh as well i mean after all the people that started the WHOLE thing in the pits was the crew members of the 18 team when they pushed that woman and then i guess it was her son that came to her rescue its all just wrong and now i can understand how people get upset w the pay me now and i will pay you later type of thing(Under the table) that is........its just ALL WRONG

WOW _ the only thing missing were the goats and you would have had a full goat rodeo. So now who gets suspended. Phillips is out ,Newick wasn't there and still it was ARWF (Arena Racing Wrestling Federation) I'll just bet Joe Gibbs and Norm Miller are thrilled and they will hear about it from Ricky Dennis. This is just stupid people. DON'T TAKE YOUR KIDS TO THIS CIRCUS. THERE ARE NO ELEPHANTS AND NO BIG KITTIES, JUST JACKASSES and the management changes are really working out well. I am guessing after this there will only be 8 or 9 cars left. No words to explain idiocy I guess. A great concept ruined by non-race people throwing their money around.

Normally I never, EVER reply to stuff like this... but.... I think I summed it up best with the post I made on my Facebook site:
You know... there are days (and nights) when I wish I was a book binder or a candle maker... or maybe even a stable boy... tonight for example.

arena racing is dead!!!! we raced in Charlotte for two years and then they closed it down. everything costs way to much and they don't update anything. as long as Ricky D. gets his money he could care less!!!!
