A bummer weekend with Hartford getting rained out, and then staying home instead of going to Kazoo Sunday. I was going to take the books Sunday, but saw the weather with 50 degrees and clouds, and wind. Thinking better of it, I stayed in South Bend. Too many loose pictures, and a little moisture, they will stick together like glue. Too much at risk. Did hear that Phil Bozell took the A Main over Andy Bozell, Jeff Ganus, Dave Sensiba, and Randy Day. Bubba Brooks took the Modified Main. Down at Winchester Derik Griffin in his first visit there set a new track record in CRA Sportsman, and followed Terry Fisher in the Main. Charlie Hanna and Steve Stacy were there, but finished down the order a bit. I believe Carl Muffley took a second in Saturday's CRA Street Stock main.
Plymouth was going to have a Crashfest Saturday, but was rained out, and it is rescheduled for this Saturday. Demo, Train, Fred Sibley car meltdown, among other events fill the card. Check their website for complete info.
For Hartford, they are going to try again this Saturday, a one day Dealer's Choice. Late Models, Non Wing Sprints, Mods, Mini's.and 3 classes of Stock Cars. Kids under 10 are free. Pits at noon, Spectator gates at 2, and races at 4. With Eldora running the UMP Nationals, no points will be awarded, but there will still be a large car count. Coolers are allowed, no glass.
At M-40, the second annual Fall Fastival. Open body- Super Shoe style Stock Cars, Lates, Pros, Streets, and Minis in one group, Modifieds, Dwarfs, and Super Cups. A mains are on Sunday, with heats and such on Saturday. Adults are $25 for two day, Sat-Sun, with kids, 10 and under free. As well, try out the food there as it is very good.
On Sunday, Kankakee is having their Fall Harvest year end biggie. Late Models $2009 to win, Mods, $1009, with Sportsman - Pro Stocks, Street Stocks, IMODS, and 4 Cylinder. As more Sponsorship joins, the payoff will go up. This race should grab a few cars coming back from Eldora, as Eldora races on Saturday. Races start at 4, I think. Go to the Kankakee website for complete info. About it for now. I can catch up on the books, add pictures, and sort out some more to add to the regional books. Have a good week. Ron Verash.
