“YES to KIDS Night” Features Fast Cars and Fast Hounds
The Greyhounds are coming out on Saturday, July 25th at the Crystal Motor Speedway in Crystal Mi.
Compassion for Greyhounds is sponsoring a “Meet and Greet”, where the public can pet and meet these gentle retired racers and learn about the Greyhound breed. Rescue volunteers will be available to answer questions about adoption, fostering and volunteering to help hounds in need.
A visit from Greyhounds is a first for the Crystal Motor Speedway, which has hosted auto racing in central Michigan since 1952. The family-friendly YES to KIDS Night will have the infield filled with race cars for all to admire. Another highlight of this event will be race car drivers giving free autographs from 6-7:00 pm. A full night of exciting auto racing follows at 7:30 pm with 4-Cylinder, Street Stocks, Pro Stocks, Pro Trucks, IMCA Mods, and Late Model racing all sponsored by Royston Auto Sales. Adult admission is $10.00, with Kids ages 5-11 only $4.00.
Compassion for Greyhounds will be giving out free Dog Safety coloring/activity books to the first 200 children in the gate at this exciting family-friendly event.
“We are excited about bringing our hounds to the Crystal Motor Speedway”, said volunteer, Cory Sayen. “When people first meet the dogs they are in awe of their aerodynamic build and bulging muscles, as these hounds are just incredible athletes … perfect running machines. It is no wonder that it’s a pleasant surprise when folks get to meet the dogs and they discover how mellow and kind they are. Greyhounds make wonderful pets and faithful companions, as they bond strongly to their people. There is still a great need to find forever homes to adopt these retired professional athletes. When you adopt a Greyhound you are truly making a Fast Friend.”
