Saturday night at Crystal Motor Speedway was Michigan Auto Racing Fan
Club (MARFC) Night with the Michigan Legends joining the action, all
sponsored by the Michigan Auto Value Bumper To Bumper stores. The Pro
Stocks had the night off.
The Races On The Web Flinn Stock feature saw Ashlee Scott return to
victory lane and extend her division points lead, moving up from her
sixth place starting position to take the win over Gavin Parks, Cory
Burch, Kory Maurice, Brady Hollenbeck, Lee Zahm, Randall Stevens,
James Wright, Jeff Daniels, and Ken Zeigler. Parks and Zeigler took
heat wins.
Action in the Kentucky Fried Chicken sponsored Late Model division got
hotter with each passing lap as Tim Stott came roaring to the front
from his 19th starting spot to challenge Tom Dusen for the lead in the
closing moments but Dusen held on to claim his first win in 2009 over
Stott, Mark Anderson, Zack Olger, Dean Huizenga, Brock Cogswell, Rusty
Seaver, Mark Pifer, Brad Buskirk, and Jay Van Dyke. Oscar Rulapaugh,
Jr. and Carl Ries grabbed heat wins.
Brennan Bowen took over the lead in the Engine Pro IMCA Modifieds with
about ten to go and then had to fight off Josh Borton and Milt
Montgomery to keep it on his way to his fourth win of the year.
Montgomery was second, followed by Borton, Chad Maurer, Rodney King,
Aaron Raby, J.R. Schmid, Rusty Zeigler, Carl Thayer, and Chad
Wernette.
Zeigler and Thayer made the A feature by winning their respective B
Mains with heat wins falling to Borton, Montgomery, Bowen, and Joe
Fowler.
The Port City Racing Pro Truck feature was all Brian LeBaron until
about three laps to go when he got loose coming out of turn four after
being tapped in the rear. Mike Kresnak whipped by the swaying LeBaron
to assume the lead and then the win. LeBaron settled for second,
followed by Chris Verhaar, Tim Hansen, Scott Nieman, David Dancer, Tim
Wood, Tim Sooy, David Verhaar, and Rodney Heikkila. LeBaron took the
heat win.
The Smokers Club of Mt Pleasant Street Stock feature saw Will Stanley
make his way to the front and then the lead from his eighth place
starting position on his way to the win. Jeff Fisher was second,
followed by Doug McKeown, Sr., George Wease, Larry Kosloski, Mark
Lamb, Bryan Craigmyle, Vern Buskirk, Brooke Ann Brasington, and Al
Kiester. Bob Griffin and Stanley posed for heat wins.
The Michigan Legends feature was a barn burner with the win not being
decided until the checker fell with Tony Monge edging out Levi
Rouster, Brian Sloan, Paul McCollum, Marty Sowles, Brandon Mahoney,
Todd, McCollum, Buck Sloan, John Warden, and Adam VanCleave. Todd
McCollum and Chance Rice won heat races.
Next week at Crystal Motor Speedway returns to the six regularly
