Keyser’s Port City Racing steps up to sponsor multiple events at Berlin Raceway for 2010; Rowdy’s Revenge 251 with NASCAR Champ Kyle Busch to pay $25,000-to-win
Jenison, MI – Keyser’s Port City Racing and Berlin Raceway are pleased to announce their new partnership for the 2010 race season. Keyser’s Port City Racing will be one of the premier sponsors for the Marne, Michigan oval on multiple levels on every night of the season.
Arguably the biggest event on Berlin’s season calendar is the Rowdy’s Revenge 251 featuring NASCAR Champion Kyle Busch. Busch returns to Berlin following his fifth place finish in last year’s race and will look to make it to victory lane at the famed 7/16th mile oval. Keyser’s Port City Racing will be the presenting sponsor of the Wednesday June 9th race, which will, once again, be sanctioned by the CRA Super Series.
“We are very excited to be a part of everything that’s going on at Berlin Raceway again this season. To have our name on one of the biggest short-track events in the entire nation, which is right in our own back yard is really exciting for us,” said Scott Keyser, President of Keyser’s Port City Racing.
The race winner of the mid-summer spectacular could take home a cool $25,000, with over $5,000 in potential bonuses and awards with the help of the involvement from Keyser’s Port City Racing based on car count. Drivers from across the nation are anticipated to travel to the Wolverine State to try and steal the prize money from Berlin’s local favorites.
“Everything that has come together in the past few weeks for our upcoming race season is very exciting! With Scott at Port City Racing coming onboard, really helps the entire racing community and we are just excited to play host,” said Michael Blackmer, President of Berlin Raceway.
CRA Super Series officials were excited upon the opportunity offered to become the sanctioning body. The June 9 non-points special will feature a few altered race procedures, including double file restarts which have become a fan favorite at the Marne raceway. All CRA car rules will apply which are consistent with most template series across the country, including the Snowball Derby’s Blizzard Series.
Berlin Raceway officials are also excited to announce that the CRA Super Series will first compete on Saturday May 8, for a regular 125-lap points paying event. The Keyser’s Port City Racing 125 will be a prime tune-up for the Wednesday June 9 $25,000-to-win race. Both dates will also feature practices on the day prior, including Friday May 7, and Tuesday June 8.
Keyser’s Port City Racing will also be involved on every night of the year next season, proudly sponsoring the Fast Car Dash races. These 4-lap events played a huge role in three of the five 2009 division Championships, and therefore will be even better this coming year.
The Berlin Raceway will swing its gates open on Saturday night April 24th, to kick off the 60th season of operation! For more information regarding the Berlin Raceway and updated season and ticket information, visit www.berlinraceway.com
