After a rain shortened Late Model season, which ended with more excitement in one night than the entire season, it seems ridiculous that the Mike Blackmer would be contacting drivers to ask them about a conspiracy to prevent Terry VanHaitsma from winning the championship and suggesting that Tony Postma was involved as well. (This seems strange since Mike stated on the radio show that Tony is told by those in charge what calls to make.) Perhaps it has been forgotten that both Ross Meeuwsen and Terry continuously qualified well and raced consistently enough to be at the top of the leader board. Coming into the final race of the season neither one was secure in winning the championship. The idea that Tim Devos would block to prevent Terry from finishing in a higher position is hard to believe. Imagine the late drivers getting together with their calculators to figure out what had to be done to prevent Terry from scoring enough points to win. Comical isn’t it? How about this for a conspiracy theory? Ross Meeuwsen goes on the track to practice and out of the blue a driver that has never raced at Berlin is allowed to practice at the exact same time and just happens to wreck Ross. Was this a conspiracy or just part of racing? Whether a VanHaitsma or Meeuwsen fan, both drivers certainly were capable of winning the championship. Meeuwsen did it this year and next year…who knows…it just might be VanHaitsma!

LM/FAN This "conspiracy" was fed by the fact that, after Tony gave the yellow in the 4 car dash, DeVos waved Thomas ahead of him. If Tim elected to start at the back Terry should have been moved to the outside front row because he was the second qualifier (Tom was first.) When that happened Tony showed have thrown the yellow and straightened the line-up.
