Spartan Speedway in Mason, Michigan starts winding down the 2009 season with a big Labor Day weekend racing doubleheader at the quarter mile paved oval. Friday will feature the Valvoline Instant Oil Change Season Championships for super late models, modifieds, sportsmen, pure and pony stocks. Tight point battles remain in three divisions and all champions will be crowned at the end of the night. In addition, the Short Track Truck Series will be in action along with Powder Puff races for all divisions. Gates open at 5 pm with racing beginning at 7:30 pm sharp. Sunday will feature the 2009 edition of the "Poor Paul Harvest 300" sponsored by Lipari Foods. Super late models will go 100 laps paying $2000 to win, modifieds will run a 50 lap feature and sportsmen will battle for 40 laps. Pure and Pony stocks will race 25 lap features and the Pony and Pure Stock Figure 8's will be in action. Gates open at 3:30 pm and racing begins at 6 pm sharp. Spartan will close the 2009 season with the first ever "Eve of Destruction" on Friday, September 11. School Bus Figure 8's, Trailer Figure 8's, Chain Races and Push Races will highlight the evening's action. Modifieds, sportsmen, pures, and ponys will be under "Run What you Brung" open competition rules and Mini Cups will also be on hand.
