Senneker Smokes the Field as the ALLSTAR Showdown Field is Finalized
Terry Senneker once again drove his Terry Gentry owned #37 to victory lane Saturday night in the Late Model feature at Kalamazoo Speedway. Senneker picked up the Midwest Glass & Mirror Fast Time Award earlier in the evening and drove from an eighth place starting position to the front of the field after Rick Sexton and Brian Bergakker crashed while racing for the lead. Tom Thomas pressured Senneker in the closing stages of the race but Senneker held on to win his second feature in two starts this season. Thomas held on to finish second over Joe Bush, Todd Harrington and Phil Bozell. Randy Day, Jeff Ganus, Brandon Lyons, Dave Sensiba and 2008 rookie of the year Trent Hellenga rounded out the top ten. Bergakker, Bill Tomlinson and Mark Shook won the heat races while Rick Senneker won the Last Chance.
The Sportsman feature saw young Darren Lane pick up his first ever win in just his second start in the division. Lane held off 2008 champ Courtney Weston, last weeks winner Phil Bozell, Chris Shannon and Mickey Cornwell. Brandon Zachary, Buddy Head, Kelli Jo Hofacker, fast qualifier Toby Montgomery and Cory Kruzel rounded out the top ten. Rick VanHouten, Hofacker, and Pat Harding won the heats while Jamison Russell won the Last Chance.
Steve Brown picked up his first ever Pure Stock feature win holding off Travis Hall, Matt Noble, Lloyd Brooks and Matt Bainbridge to win the Pure Stock feature. Seth Moody, Keith Wilfong, Jeff Wanamaker, Tim Pletz and Maggie Zwart finished 6-10. Noble set quick time while Bainbridge and Brooks won the heats.
Dale Leonard drove from back to front to win the Cyber Stock feature over Jason Ratashak, Nick Layman, last weeks winner Keith Dunham and Larry Peloquin. Ken Knapp, Shawn Misak, Clark Smith, Kyle Knapp and Brian Gregersen rounded out the top ten. Misak was quick time while Leonard, Ratashak and Layman won the heats.
Next weekend will be one of the biggest two day weekends in Kalamazoo Speedways 59 year history as the track will host it first ever All-Star weekend. On Saturday night the Modifieds, Pure Stocks and Cyber Stocks will run a complete show while the 13 All-Star Late Models will have qualifying races to set the field for Sunday’s All-Star Showdown. Also any Late Model not locked into the field will have a last chance race on Saturday night that will transfer two more cars to Sunday’s field. On Sunday at 7pm the first ever AllStar Performance All-Star Showdown will hit the track for a 3 segment, 75 lap race that is guaranteed to have plenty of action. At the conclusion of the $5,000 to win feature the Belle Tire Four Cylinder Enduro Series will hit the track for a 200 lap action packed enduro. For more information visit www.kalamazoospeedway.com.
