for yoshiki....... 2weeks ago bryan gruppen went and talk to mike, was penalized by not being able to race in the heat. results not coming back. kevin degoods dad went and talk to mike, was escorded off the grounds. dont know the reason why. and you expect the driver or crewman to talk to the guy. you would be better to go talk to chet at his grave site. go ahead and talk to a few drivers one night and im not talken about mikes boys.

For five years, all we heard was how we need a racing guy in charge of Berlin, not baseball people. Well, you have a racing guy in charge now, and people are still complaining. People want to annoint Chet now that he is dead, but they bad-mouthed him, too. We just didn't have the internet back then to come on here and bash him every day.

Right on Herme!! All I have to say is that everyone that thinks Mike Blacksmear is a great guy is probably a Boyne Employee or a family member. I was in the tire barn at 11:30am on 4/19/09 and watched the great Mike explode on 2 employees because they weren't doing their jobs supposedly. Myself and 3 other drivers and crew chiefs just chuckled and commented that it wasn't 1/2 hour into the official season to see the first meltdown. Now don't everyone jump on me and say that I'm bashing the man. He has made some nice improvements to the old girl but as the old saying goes " you can always put lipstick on a pig!". I have been around the Berlin Raceway for 30 yrs. also yoshiki and have butted heads with Chet, but the nice thing about Chet you always knew where you stood with him unlike the current promoter. Don't give me he!! because I have an opinion on the fair haired golden boy, as my Dad always told me "opinions are like a$$holes everybodys got one." And let me tell you I am the king of opinions just ask my family!!! LOL

George, was not bytching about you, sorry you took it that way. I know you could figure who posts are from addresses. But as herme has said I have seen things and don't want that happening to me. Too late now I guess. Better for everyone who disagrees with things to either keep mouth shut or suffer the consequences at the track. Or as they have been told so many times pack up and leave if you don't like it. Yes, Tim Devos did load and leave last weekend. What I heard was that the Late Model drivers were told they had to buy 6 tires or their pay would be cut in half. He didn't have the money with him to buy 6 tires and didn't need 6 tires. So he packed up and left. I love going to the track each weekend and if you keep your mouth shut and your head down, no problems. But if you voice an opinion or disagree then that is when you have issues. As Shammy51 says as well, you never know what is going to happen one week to the next just try to gauge the mood and stay clear if it is bad.

an open letter to mike b. first off mike i would like to applogize if i offend you in this post in any way or have in my other post. second there is no one more than me that wants to see you succeed in your venture. you have some pretty good people in your organization. your teck people, your safty crew, tire people and race directers. a lot of drivers and crew respect them and the jobs they do. so why not let them do them? just once mike try going on the other side of the track once the races start, take the radio off, and sit back and enjoy the races. let your people make the calls in teck, on the tires or any incident on the track. if some one has to get a hold of you such as the ticket window they can call you on the cell. i know it going to be hard doing this mike as your a hands on guy but so far the way your doing it just isnt working. you have lost a lot of respect from drivers and crews and i think its time to earn it back. if your people should happen to make a bad or wrong move so be it. you can talk to them later about there decision. one other thing mike and that is about adding more races to your line up. i know you want to give the fans a good show but you cant expect your shows to go on with out a hitch such as a bad crash or oil spill. it can take along time to clean the mess up. than everybody rushing and pushing to get the races in. leave the shows as planned and if ya get done early so be it. $ 12. for a 3-4 hr. show is well worth it in my book. i believe there has only been 1 night where the safety crews or wreckers didnt move. so ya know there going to be wrecks or oil spills every night. again mike please give it a try or maybe 2. let the people you hired do the jobs they were hired to do. there good people. ty

Regarding the open letter to Mike: While I am thrilled that someone with his background had the guts to take over Berlin, I must say that things might go a little more smoothly if he stuck to the original plan I heard him voice while listening in at the season opener's driver's meeting. I remember him stating VERY clearly that he had hired a staff to take care of all issues on and off the race track, and that those were the folks he expected both the competitors and fans to interface with whenever there were problems. 'Sounds like he's struggled with adhering to his own policy, and has gotten a little TOO involved in the day-to-day operation of the facility. Hopefully he'll get back to allowing those people he hired to take care of things, before too many more "feathers get russled"... In the meantime, I personally will continue to support Mike, his staff, and Berlin Raceway, and attend the races there whenever my work or personal schedules allow me to do so.... The idea of that entertainment option no longer being available after all these years is something I don't even want to think about...

Mike is acting like he's the big kid in charge of a daycare center. Sombody said to give him a break, and that might happen when he decides to give others a break. In order to earn respect, you first have to give respect, and that's not happening at the moment. Being bullheaded, and blowing up at anyone and everyone around you won't gain anything. What it will do is empty the pits of racecars, drivers, crewmembers, car owners and the tracks main workforce. Take a look around Mike before it's to late, remember..... family first, right?

Mike is too arrogant to succeed. His attitude will be the downfall of him and the track...unfortunate but true.

Blako....
I think what you're trying to say is.....
It's Mike's way, or the highway. (Many times he's said... don't like it? load up and leave!)
Funny thing is, a lot have taken the highway. How may lates were there for the last big race.. 11??
